CEDARVILLE, Ohio - The NAIA Division II #3 Lady Jackets clamped down on Mount Vernon Nazarene in the second half to grab a 78-55 American Mideast Conference victory in the Callan Athletic Center.

Cedarville won for the 16th straight time and turned to the defense to do it. After leading 33-31 at halftime, the Jackets limited MVNU to just seven field goals and 23 percent shooting while outscoring the visitors 45-24 in the final 20 minutes.

Aubrey Siemon scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds for Cedarville, 24-3 overall and 15-1 AMC. It was the first time in 16 games she didn't have at least 10 rebounds.

Rachel Hurley buried four three-pointers and tallied 14 points. Alison Lemon produced a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds to go along with six assists. Lydia Miller added 12 points and nine boards.

The Lady Jackets continued to zero in from the free throw line going 21-for-24 to raise their team percentage to .783 for the season. MVNU, 17-6 and 10-5 AMC, had its seven-game winning streak snapped. The Cougars had not lost since CU defeated them, 69-58, on Jan. 19. [STATS]
