PEPPER PIKE, Ohio - Alison Lemon fired in 24 points as the NAIA Division II #3 Lady Jackets took home the outright American Mideast Conference championship with an 85-57 decision at Ursuline.
It's the sixth league title in the past eight years for Cedarville. The Jackets extended their winning streak to 18 in a row to improve to 26-3 overall and 17-1 AMC.
CU shot a blistering 68 percent from the field in the first half including an incredible 9-for-12 from three-point territory for a 52-35 lead. The visitors blew the margin out to 30 points with a 17-4 start to the second half.
Lemon made 5-of-6 three-pointers in her performance. Lydia Miller scored 12 points, Rachel Hurley had 11, and Aubrey Siemon assembled double-double #20 with 10 points and 13 rebounds.
With 382 rebounds this year, Siemon set a new single season CU record, breaking the previous mark of 377 held by Amy Zehr in 1992-93.
The Lady Jackets shot 57 percent from the field and made 11-of-18 shots outside the arc. Ursuline is 6-23 and 2-16 AMC. [STATS]
