McDERMOTT, Ohio - Matt Krogstad posted an impressive six-shot victory as medalist at the Shawnee State Invitational. His performance guided Cedarville to the team title at the Elks Country Club where they opened the spring portion of the schedule.
Krogstad finished at one-under par 143 with rounds of 71-72 for another good showing at Shawnee State. He placed 4th last spring and was the runner-up as a freshman.
The Yellow Jackets had rounds of 294-302 for a 596 total. They were followed by Ohio Dominican, 304-307-611, and the host Bears, 313-306-619, in the seven-team field.
Ben Mounts tied for runner-up honors at 73-76-149 while Brigham Michaud also made the all-tournament team tying for 4th place at 71-79-150.
Chris Bennington tied for 9th with scores of 79-75-154. Dan Atkeson tied for 33rd at 82-83-165.
Three other CU golfers played as individuals. Trent Roach tied for 9th place with back-to-back rounds of 77 for a 154 total. Matt Yeiter tied for 22nd, 84-76-160, and Nick Bigler was 29th, 81-82-163.
