Evan Thayer and
Josiah Bragg each had Top 10 finishes to lead Cedarville to a runner-up showing at the Miami Open.
The host Redhawks won the four-team meet with 25 points with the Yellow Jackets next at 50. Wheeling Jesuit totaled 63 points and Rio Grande had 90.
Thayer covered the 8,000 meters in 25:58 to place 4th. Bragg, who was running in his first meet after missing the season opener, was 7th in 26:06.
Clay Watson led a pack of four CU runners in 13th place with a time of 26:38. He was closely followed by
Ryan Gustafson (14th; 26:57),
Joseph Cathey (15th; 27:02), and
Matt Cheney (16th; 27:03.
Rounding out the scoring for the Yellow Jackets was
Joe Niemiec. He was 19th in 27:11.
