CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Cedarville finished 10th among 45 schools in the 57th Annual All-Ohio Intercollegiate Championship staged on a blustery day at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course.
The 310 competitors were met with conditions featuring temps in the low 50's with blowing rain in 20-25 mph winds.
Evan Thayer went on to place 31st overall in a time of 25.57 for the 8,000 meters. He was 7th among 96 NCAA Division II / NAIA runners.
Joseph Cathey was 46th overall in 26:10 while
Clay Watson finished 68th in 26:25. Rounding out the scoring were
Josiah Bragg (75th; 26:31) and
Ryan Gustafson (90th; 26:45).
Joe Niemiec was 96th in 26:53 and
Matt Cheney placed 127th in 27:17.
Cincinnati recorded 95 points to claim the overall championship while Kent State was second with 109 points. The Yellow Jackets totaled 308.
The NCAA Division II / NAIA plaque went to Shawnee State with 46 points. The rest of the top four among the 14 teams in the division were Ashland (51), Malone (51), and Cedarville (95).
