Box Score SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -
Raegan Ryan scored a career-high 25 points and backcourt mate
Kayla Jenerette added 22 to guide Cedarville to an 82-76 non-conference victory at Notre Dame to end the Falcons' 10-game winning streak.
The CU women, 17-8 overall, may have forgotten their uniforms, but they didn't leave their game behind. The Lady Jackets had to overcome a bizarre day as well as a five-point halftime deficit against an opponent who won in the Callan Athletic Center, 77-65, on Jan. 19.
“I am really pleased with the energy and effort we are playing with,” remarked Head Coach
Kirk Martin. “We continue to tinker and move people around and it seems that maybe we've hit on a rotation that's right for this group. I'm proud of them.”
The Lady Jackets realized just prior to arriving at NDC that they had left their uniforms back home. So, they donned the Falcons' royal blue road jerseys with “Notre Dame” emblazoned in yellow across the front.
The home team inched out to a 44-39 halftime lead. However, CU came back thanks to Ryan bagging 17 of her points in the second period.
Deborah Chandler's basket with 13:50 left started an 11-point run that gave the Jackets the lead for good. After Cedarville built the difference to as much as 10, NDC could only get as close as 71-68 with 4:25 to play.
Ryan's 25 points featured five three-pointers and a perfect 8-for-8 showing at the line. She added six rebounds and three assists. Jenerette hit a pair of treys, was 8-for-8 at the stripe, and dished out seven assists.
CU had the rebounding edge, 42-40.
Lauryn Robinson and
Danielle Spiliotis hauled in eight boards apiece.
