Spiliotis signs professional contract

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Four-year Cedarville University women's basketball player Danielle Spiliotis recently signed a professional contract to play this upcoming season in Athens, Greece.

"This opportunity is a gift and blessing from the Lord. My time at Cedarville taught me what it meant to truly worship God through the game of basketball and that is what I long to continue to do. I am thrilled to learn more about my culture, and understand more fully the roots of my family's heritage. I am overjoyed that I have this opportunity to not only continue playing the game that I love, but using it as a platform to share the love and hope of Jesus Christ," noted Spiliotis reflecting on this next chapter of her journey.

Spiliotis, a 6-foot-1 post player from Port Jefferson, New York played four seasons at Cedarville with the team posting an 89-34 record during that time. She averaged 4.8 points per game and 3.8 rebounds per game while appearing in 119 contests. Spiliotis registered a career-high 7.3 points per contest while leading the squad with 25 blocked shots during the 2013-14 season.
