#CUJackets win to keep streak alive

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Cedarville extended its unbeaten string to six consecutive matches with a 2-1 G-MAC result over visiting Davis & Elkins.

The Yellow Jackets, who are 5-0-1 in their last six outings, improved to 8-4-2 overall and 7-1-2 G-MAC.

CU got on the board first when Cole Butaud pushed through his third goal of the season from six yards out in the 17th minute. Joel Fullmer and Sammy Kilimann assisted.

The Senators equalized in the 34th to forge a 1-1 tie heading into intermission.

Guilherme Fernandes (pictured above with the winning shot) came through with the go ahead goal in the 67th minute. Derek Braak and Alexander Narog set him to tuck a ten-yard shot through the keeper's legs.

Stinger Notes:
  • The outcome ended a four-game losing streak to Davis & Elkins.
  • Cedarville had a string of 427 minutes without allowing a goal snapped.
  • The Yellow Jackets are 5-1-1 at home this season.
  • The Senators lead the all-time season series, 6-4-1.
