NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Cedarville took over sole possession of first place in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference following an impressive 3-0 victory at Trevecca.
The Yellow Jackets, whose unbeaten streak reached eight games, improved to 10-4-2 overall and 9-1-2 G-MAC.
Leading scorer
Derek Braak jump started the offense again by heading in his seventh goal of the season from
Cole Butaud in the 25th minute.
It took awhile to net an insurance goal. Freshman
Jonny Stephens scored unassisted in the 73rd while
Alexander Narog accounted for the final in the 82nd minute from
Conner Hughes.
Carter Selvius registered a career-high eight saves in goal as the CU defense produced its seventh clean sheet overall.
Stinger Notes:
- The Jackets have conceded only three goals in the past eight games (7-0-1).
- Braak has four game-winning goals this season.
- Stephens tallied in his second straight game.
- Butaud and Hughes are tied for the team lead in assists with four apiece.
- Selvius lowered his goals against average to 0.74 with his sixth shutout.
- Cedarville is 11-1-2 in the all-time series vs. Trevecca.
