COLUMBUS, Ohio - Cedarville held Quincy to three field goals in the first half and broke away after intermission for a convincing 67-40 victory to wrap up the Midwest Region Crossover at Ohio Dominican.
The Lady Jackets, 1-1, led 25-15 at the break. They made 15-of-29 shots including 7-of-13 beyond the arc in the final two quarters.
Freshman
Emily Chapman paced a balanced attack with 13 points off the bench while
Baylee Bennett added 11.
Regina Hochstetler and
Cameron Peek chipped in eight points each.
Abby Wolford pulled in a game-high eight rebounds and
Ashlyn Huffman dished out five assists.
Stinger Notes:
- Thirteen Lady Jackets played and 11 scored.
- Cedarville made 12 three-pointers each night in the Crossover.
- It was the first meeting in women's basketball between the two schools.
- WBCA Division II No. 2 Ashland defeated host Ohio Dominican in the second game, 94-74.
- The Jackets play their home opener on Thursday vs. Wilberforce.
