CEDARVILLE, Ohio -
Baylee Bennett scored 17 points and Cedarville knocked off Findlay, 74-70, in a battle of two of the top team in the G-MAC at the Callan Athletic Center.
The Lady Jackets, 5-1 overall and 2-0 G-MAC, registered their fifth consecutive victory.
CU broke a 52-52 tie by netting the last six points of the third quarter to take the lead for good.
The difference never grew larger than seven in the fourth quarter.
Regina Hochstetler iced the outcome with two free throws with 11 seconds remaining.
Bennett drilled five of the team's 11 three-pointers to lead the offense. Hochstetler and
Cameron Peek added 12 points each.
Stinger Notes:
- Peek's 12 points set a career high.
- Cedarville committed just six turnovers and was credited with 20 points off of turnovers.
- The Jackets shot over 50 percent from the field for the third straight game.
- The contest was tied five times with five lead changes.
- In less than 48 hours, the Lady Jackets swept the two teams who tied for #1 in the G-MAC preseason poll (Hillsdale, Findlay).
- Findlay leads the all-time season series, 25-9.
- The two teams play again on the Oilers' home court on Jan. 31.
