DAYTON, Ohio -
Anna Carrico netted her first career goal and
Allison Garlock came up big between the pipes as the Lady Jackets blanked pre-season favorite, Walsh, 1-0, in a key G-MAC contest.
The game was moved to the artificial turf at Wright State University's Alumni Field because of heavy rain.
The key moment came in the 41st minute for Cedarville, 9-5 overall and 8-2 G-MAC.
Olivia Hoffman's cross from the right wing found
Kenna Anderson on the end line left of the goal. Her pass to Carrico was tucked into the right corner.
Garlock made seven saves including stops of a pair of breakaways in the opening minutes. The defense also cleared another shot off the line.
Walsh, who was picked first in the G-MAC preseason coaches' poll, falls to 10-4 and 7-2 G-MAC with its second straight loss.
