Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Hoffman ‘golden’ with double overtime winner

HIGHLIGHTS

DAYTON, Ohio - Olivia Hoffman's strike in the 103rd minute gave Cedarville a 1-0 victory in two overtimes against Trevecca in a G-MAC game played in cold conditions at Wright State University.

Hoffman took a pass from Hannah Atkinson at the top of the penalty area, turned, and perfectly placed a left-footed shot into the upper right corner.

The result was the sixth consecutive victory for the Lady Jackets, 10-5 overall and 9-2 G-MAC.

Allison Garlock made five saves en route to her sixth shutout of the season and 19th of her career.

The game was moved to WSU's Alumni Field because excessive rain made CU's home turf unplayable. Game conditions featured temperatures in the upper 30's with winds gusting to 35 mph at times.

Stinger Notes:
  • The outcome was the ninth 1-0 score line that CU has played this season (5-4) with three straight wins.
  • The Jackets have checked the opposition on two goals during the six-game winning streak.
  • It was the second time Hoffman and Atkinson hooked up on an overtime winner this season.
  • Atkinson flicked in Hoffman's corner kick to beat West Virginia Wesleyan, 1-0, on Sept. 14.
  • The two sides split 1-0 results this year. Trevecca leads the all-time series, 7-5-3.
