CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Cedarville came away with its third G-MAC men's soccer draw of the season after battling Ohio Valley to a 1-1 final in two overtimes.
The Yellow Jackets are 3-1-4 overall and 1-1-3 G-MAC.
The Fighting Scots, 4-3-1 and 2-2-1 G-MAC, broke through first with an unassisted goal in the 27th minute.
Cedarville eventually earned a penalty kick in the 58th with
Mauricio Ochoa Vazquez converting his fourth tally of the campaign.
Senior keeper
Carter Selvius made three saves. Ohio Valley outshot the Yellow Jackets 21-6 overall with a slim 4-2 margin on goal.
Stinger Notes:
- The four ties equal the school record for a single season set twice previously (1968, 2013).
- Ten of Ohio Valley's eleven starters played all 110 minutes.
- Vazquez is 2-for-2 from the spot this fall.
- The Yellow Jackets have allowed one goal or less in seven of eight matches.
- The Fighting Scots were ranked No. 7 in the first United Soccer Coaches Division II poll on Sept. 10.
- It's the only regular season meeting in 2019 between the two sides.
- Cedarville leads the all-time series, 8-4-3.
