CEDARVILLE, Ohio -
Mary Kate Wyer scored twice as the Lady Jackets overwhelmed G-MAC foe Alderson Broaddus, 5-0, in the annual Homecoming game.
Cedarville squared its overall record at 4-4 while improving to 3-1 in the conference.
Rachel Wiggins got the scoring started in the 10th minute from
Bex Velloney and
Aleah Martone made it 2-0 just 78 seconds later on an assist from
Taylor Noll.
Wyer tallied her first collegiate goal unassisted in the 44th minute and headed in her second from Noll in the 78th.
Velloney scored from a sharp angle unassisted in the 85th to account for the final.
Neither
Allison Garlock nor
Jocelyn Gross were required to make a save in goal while combining for the shutout.
Stinger Notes:
- It was the first contest this season not to be decided by one goal.
- The Lady Jackets outshot AB 28-0 overall and 11-0 on goal.
- It was the most goals scored in a game by CU since a 5-0 win at Kentucky Wesleyan last year.
- Gross made her collegiate debut between the pipes in the second half.
- The Lady Jackets lead the all-time series, 8-1.
