CHAMPIONSHIP INFO
DAYTON, Ohio - No. 4 seed Tiffin successfully defended it's G-MAC Men's Soccer Championship by shutting down No. 3 Cedarville, 1-0, at Roger Glass Stadium.
The Dragons improved to 11-4-5 with the outcome and earned the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Championship.
The Yellow Jackets now await an at-large berth to the Division II Super Regional and expect to be one of four G-MAC squads to land a spot.
Tiffin manufactured a goal in the 21st minute and the tally held up.
Cedarville, 12-3-6, attempted ten shots, but none were on goal compared to Tiffin's nine shots and four on frame.
Stinger Notes:
- Cedarville is 2-2-1 with three titles in five tries in the G-MAC Championship game.
- It was the first time the Jackets were shutout this season.
- CU had scored at least one goal in 27 consecutive games dating back to a 0-0 draw vs. Lake Erie last fall.
- All-G-MAC forward Gui Fernandes did not play.
- Tiffin leads the all-time series between the two schools, 21-11-1.
