Abby Wolford poured in 25 points and Cedarville held on to beat Christian Brothers, 76-71, in its first game of the season at the Callan Athletic Center.
The Lady Jackets never trailed, but they were pushed in the final moments by the visitors.
An 11-point cushion was trimmed to two with 1:58 remaining.
Alli Roh hit a free throw and
Ashlyn Huffman drained four straight to push the margin out to seven with 24 seconds to go.
Wolford buried six of the team's 12 three-point baskets. She added five rebounds, three steals, and an assist.
Huffman finished with 11 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds.
Paige Garr scored 11 points and also pulled down eight boards.
Allison Mader and
Isabelle Bolender chipped in ten points apiece for Cedarville, 2-1.
Stinger Notes:
- Huffman's nine assists and eight rebounds matched her career-high in both categories.
- Cedarville committed just seven turnovers and forced 15.
- The Jackets made at least ten three-pointers for the second straight outing.
- It was the first women's basketball meeting between the two schools.
