CEDARVILLE, Ohio - The Lady Jackets overcame a sluggish start with a big second half to defeat Wilberforce, 78-57, in a non-conference game at the Callan Athletic Center.
Abby Wolford scored 18 points to lead four players in double figures for Cedarville, 10-2.
Ashlyn Huffman netted 17 points with three assists.
Isabelle Bolender had 11 points and
Alli Roh tallied ten.
The opening half was all Wilberforce. The Bulldogs, 7-5, never trailed in building a 12-point margin midway through the second quarter and leading 34-28 at the half.
CU made 13-of-17 shots in the third quarter and finally took its first lead on a Wolford basket with 1:37 to go in the frame.
The home team took a 57-53 margin into the fourth quarter and went on a 14-point run in the first six minutes to blow it open.
Stinger Notes:
- CU outscored the visitors 30-9 in the last 12 minutes.
- Roh and Wolford tied for game-high rebounding honors with seven each.
- The Jackets were +11 on the boards, 41-30.
- Cedarville has won 19 consecutive home games.
