OWENSBORO, Ky. - G-MAC leader Kentucky Wesleyan extended its winning streak to 14 in a row with a convincing 80-60 decision over the Lady Jackets at the Owensboro Sportscenter.
The Panthers, who have not lost since an 89-78 reversal at the Callan Athletic Center on Dec. 8, improved to 18-3 overall and 14-1 G-MAC.
Cedarville, 16-6 and 12-4 G-MAC, dropped its third straight.
KWC opened up an 18-point lead in the second quarter, but the Lady Jackets scrambled to get back within 47-37 at the intermission.
The visitors trimmed the deficit to six early in the third quarter before the Panthers responded with nine unanswered points to pull away.
Ashlyn Huffman scored 16 points while
Regina Hochstetler added 10 for Cedarville.
Stinger Notes:
- Kentucky Wesleyan is now three games clear of CU, Findlay, and Hillsdale in the standings.
- The Panthers made their first 17 free throws and finished 17-for-18.
- Huffman scored in double figures for the fifth straight time.
- CU committed ten or fewer turnovers (8) for the eighth consecutive game.
- The Lady Jackets lead the all-time season series, 9-6.
