CINCINNATI, Ohio - Kentucky State clubbed three home runs and outscored the Yellow Jackets, 10-3, in their annual meeting at the Cincinnati Reds Urban Youth Academy.
The Thorobreds, who were the visitors in the contest, scored three times in the first inning, three more in the third, and enjoyed an 8-0 bulge by the middle of the fifth.
Cedarville plated two runs in the fifth on a couple of errors plus an RBI single from
Bryce Hughes.
Elijah Sanchez added a sacrifice fly to score another run in the eighth.
Markus Neff doubled and tallied two of the six hits for the Yellow Jackets, 12-23.
Payton Eeles' two-out double in the seventh stretched his hitting streak to 19 games.
Stinger Notes:
- Kentucky State won two of the three regular season meetings between the two schools.
- The multi-hit game was Neff's third of the season.
- Eeles, Sanchez, and Ross Melchior have started all 35 games this spring.
- The Jackets play at Division I Wright State on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. EDT.
