CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Oakland City erased an early deficit and used strong pitching to edge the Yellow Jackets, 5-3, to wrap up their non-conference three-game series.
The teams managed six hits apiece with just one of those going for extra bases.
Cedarville grabbed a 2-0 advantage through three innings, but the Oaks got a run in the fourth and two more in the sixth to take the lead for good.
Elijah Sanchez had two hits and an RBI for the Yellow Jackets, 10-19.
Connor Culhane added an RBI single.
CU starter
Noah Cline logged 5 2/3 innings allowing three earned runs on two hits with six strikeouts.
Oakland City pitchers combined to rack up 16 strikeouts while improving to 17-9 on the year.
Stinger Notes:
- Cedarville used six pitchers in the nine-inning contest.
- Freshman Payton Eeles' hitting streak reached 13 games with an eighth inning single.
- Culhane hit safely in each of the three games with four RBI.
- The Jackets welcome Urbana in a non-conference game on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. EDT.
