CEDARVILLE, Ohio -
Aleah Martone converted a penalty kick late in the first overtime to provide Cedarville a 1-0 result against Ohio Dominican in the G-MAC opener for both sides.
The Panthers were whistled for a handball in the box in the 99th minute allowing Martone to step up to the spot and deposit her first collegiate goal.
Allison Garlock was sterling between the pipes again with six saves for the Lady Jackets, 2-3.
Cedarville outshot the visitors overall, 15-13. ODU placed more on goal, 6-4, however, the Jackets hit the crossbar three times in the contest.
Stinger Notes:
- CU ended a 12-game winless streak (0-11-1) against Ohio Dominican dating back to Sept. 14, 2004.
- Four of the Lady Jackets' five outings have gone to overtime this season.
- Cedarville has won back-to-back 1-0 OT decisions and four of their contests have resulted in 1-0 score lines.
- Garlock's shutout was the 15th of her career.
