OWENSBORO, Ohio -
Gui Fernandes scored twice and
Carter Selvius recorded his third shutout for the Yellow Jackets during a 3-0 G-MAC win at Kentucky Wesleyan.
It's the first conference victory of the young season for Cedarville, 3-1-3 overall and 1-1-2 G-MAC.
Fernandes tallied in the 24th minute with
Pedro Alvares assisting and
Mauricio Ochoa Vazquez doubled the lead five minutes later.
Fernandes netted his fourth of the campaign unassisted in the 61st minute.
Selvius stopped four shots in goal for his tenth career shutout.
Stinger Notes:
- The Jackets outshot KWC 16-0 in the first half and 28-6 for the game.
- CU fired 16 shots on goal compared to four for the hosts.
- The Yellow Jackets are a perfect 14-0 vs. the Panthers in the all-time series.
- The two sides meet again in Cedarville on Nov. 2 in the regular season home finale.
