ALLENDALE, Mich. - United Soccer Coaches Division II No. 6 Lee scored 34 seconds into overtime to blank Cedarville, 1-0, in the season opener for both sides at Grand Valley State University.
The Flames were an NCAA National Semifinalist last season.
Lee outshot the Lady Jackets 13-4 overall including a 4-2 margin on goal. Each team was whistled for 10 fouls in what was their first meeting ever in women's soccer.
Allison Garlock was credited with three saves in goal for Cedarville, who meets up with Rollins (Fla.) on Saturday at GVSU at 11:00 a.m. EDT.
