CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Ohio Dominican took control early and held on to deal the Yellow Jackets their first G-MAC setback, 78-71, at the Callan Athletic Center.
Cedarville falls to 7-6 overall and 4-1 G-MAC.
The Panthers, 4-9 and 2-3 G-MAC, never trailed in the final 37 minutes of the contest, yet had to cling to small leads.
It was 34-25 early in the second half and the home team fashioned the only tie at 45-45 with 12:12 to go.
ODU pushed the difference back to seven with three minutes left and kept the advantage to end a three-game skid.
Kollin Van Horn scored 20 of his career-high 24 points in the second half and
Quinton Green totaled 15.
Stinger Notes:
- It was just the fourth home game of the season and the first since Dec. 5.
- Conner TenHove netted eight points and has 995 for his career.
- The six turnovers was a season-low for the Yellow Jackets.
- It was the 87th meeting between the two schools with CU leading, 63-24.
- The all-time series began with the 1969-70 season.
- The rematch is just 16 days away when the teams play again in Columbus on January 18.
