CEDARVILLE, Ohio -
Ashlyn Huffman fired in 25 points to join the 1,000 Point Club and lead Cedarville to an impressive 91-75 G-MAC victory over Findlay at the Callan Athletic Center.
The Lady Jackets never trailed in rebounding from a three-point setback in their season opener less than 48 hours earlier.
The hosts scored the first five points of the game, led by 20 at the intermission, and inflated the margin to as much as 26 midway through the final quarter.
Huffman paced five players in double figures as the game-high scoring leader. She also topped all players in rebounds (8) and assists (4).
Allison Mader scored 16 points with additional offense from
Isabelle Bolender (13),
Emily Chapman (12), and
Paige Garr (11).
Stinger Notes:
- Huffman is the 28th player in Lady Jacket basketball history to surpass 1,000 career points.
- Cedarville converted 31-of-35 free throws and is 40-of-46 (.870) in two games.
- The Jackets outrebounded the taller visitors, 34-33, and forced seven more turnovers.
- The Oilers lead the all-time series, 28-10, but CU ended a three-game slide.
- The two sides are scheduled to meet again in Findlay on Jan. 16.
