CEDARVILLE, Ohio - It took awhile, but the Lady Jackets finally shook off Alderson Broaddus for a 74-57 G-MAC victory at the Callan Athletic Center.
An 18-point run in the fourth quarter propelled the hosts to their 24th consecutive regular season home win.
Cedarville, 16-5 overall and 9-3 G-MAC, has won five straight.
The pesky Battlers had the game tied 53-53 with 7:15 remaining.
Abby Wolford buried a trio of three-pointers during the decisive spurt which spanned five minutes.
Wolford finished with 14 points - 12 of which came from behind the arc.
Paige Garr tallied 12 points and
Isabelle Bolender had 11.
Ashlyn Huffman totaled nine points, nine assists, and seven rebounds.
Stinger Notes:
- Cedarville made 14-of-22 three-point baskets for a season high .636 accuracy.
- Garr scored in double figures for the third straight game (12.7 ppg).
- Huffman has had five outings of nine-plus assists.
- Wolford has scored in twin digits in 11 of the last 12 games.
- The Lady Jackets made 8-of-11 field goals in the final period including 5-of-6 from deep.
- Six different players scored during the 18-point fourth quarter run.
- Alderson Broaddus committed 11 more turnovers in the contest (22-11).
- In regular season games, CU has won 31 straight on the home court.
- Cedarville is perfect in the all-time series vs. AB at 15-0.
- The Jackets have a rare 12-day break before their next game on Feb. 13 when they host Malone.
