PAINESVILLE, Ohio -
Ashlyn Huffman's twisting layup with 20 seconds left broke the game's final tie and propelled Cedarville to a 58-55 G-MAC win at Lake Erie.
Allison Mader added a free throw with seven seconds to go and the winless Storm missed two shots in the waning moments allowing the Lady Jackets to escape with their 11th consecutive victory.
The two teams meet again on Monday at the Callan Athletic Center.
Paige Garr came off the bench with a team-high 15 points for Cedarville, 11-1 overall and 11-1 G-MAC.
Isabelle Bolender finished with 13 points.
Emily Chapman turned in eight points and eight rebounds while Mader had eight points.
The league leaders struggled from the opening tap suffering through their toughest offensive performance of the campaign. However, they forced 11 more turnovers (7-18) on the defensive side.
Stinger Notes:
- Garr registered her second-highest scoring output of the season (19 at Kentucky Wesleyan).
- The late go ahead basket by Huffman was her only field goal of the game.
- Prior to Saturday, the fewest points the Jackets had scored was 79 vs. Tiffin.
- The lead changed hands 16 times with 13 tie scores.
- Neither side led by more than four points.
- Cedarville remains perfect in the all-time series having won all 12 meetings.
