Cedarville dodges Arrows; claims 14th straight

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - The Lady Jackets needed a flurry in the final minutes to get past Ursuline, 90-86, at the Callan Athletic Center.

Cedarville's 14th consecutive victory pushed the season record to 14-1 overall and 14-1 G-MAC.

Isabelle Bolender paced a balanced attack with 18 points while Emily Chapman tallied all 17 of her markers in the second half.

Ashlyn Huffman was good for 16 points, eight rebounds, and four assists. Allison Mader scored 11 points.

The Lady Jackets let a 14-point third quarter lead get away from them. The Arrows tossed in a 40-footer at the buzzer followed by back-to-back threes to begin the fourth to get back in it.

Ursuline held a pair of two-point margins in the final period. Chapman's three-pointer with 2:11 to go gave the home team the lead for good, 82-81.

Stinger Notes:
  • Paige Garr and Lexi Moore chipped in nine points apiece.
  • The Jackets won despite making a season-low six three-point baskets.
  • The Arrows hit nine triples - the first time this winter the opponent made more treys than CU.
  • The hosts held a 44-35 rebounding edge including a team-high nine by Moore.
  • Bolender is averaging 15.4 points in the last seven games shooting .597 from the field and .938 (15-for-16) at the line.
