CEDARVILLE, Ohio -
Andy Volk poked in a rebound off the Ashland keeper in the 99th minute to give the Yellow Jackets a 1-0 win in a G-MAC rematch.
The outcome was the fifth consecutive victory for Cedarville, 9-2-1 overall and 6-2-1 G-MAC.
Pedro Alvares one-hopped a 25-yard shot that the Eagles' keeper stopped, but Volk was there on the follow up to knock the ball into an open net from short range.
Ashland also entered on a four-game winning streak following a 1-1 draw against the Yellow Jackets three weeks prior.
Both teams placed five attempts on goal while CU had double the shots overall, 16-8.
Stinger Notes:
- Jared Zacharias made five saves in posting his third shutout.
- CU is 4-0-1 in overtime contests this fall.
- Volk also scored the OT winner at California PA.
- The Jackets are 6-0 at home and 13-0-1 on campus in the last 14 games.
- The next three assignments will be played on the road (Trevecca, Kentucky Wesleyan, Findlay).
- Cedarville holds a 5-2-1 lead in the all-time series.
