OWENSBORO, Ky. -
Gui Fernandes and
Eli Schmidt scored while the Yellow Jacket defense held firm in a 2-0 G-MAC result at Kentucky Wesleyan.
That makes seven consecutive victories for Cedarville, 11-2-1 overall and 8-2-1 G-MAC.
Fernandes tallied his third of the season from
Pedro Alvares in the 14th minute.
The Jackets got a much-needed insurance goal by Schmidt in the 63rd with
Jake Johnson assisting.
Jared Zacharias made three saves in posting his third straight shutout and fifth overall.
Stinger Notes:
- The defense has not allowed a goal in 352 minutes.
- Shots favored the visitors 22-9 overall and 8-3 on goal.
- A total of 22 Yellow Jackets saw action in the game.
- CU is 18-0 in the all-time series vs. Kentucky Wesleyan including a 57-7 goal differential.
