@CUSoccer comes up short in G-MAC semifinal

CHAMPIONSHIP INFO

PAINESVILLE, Ohio - A goal in the 21st minute was all No. 3 seed Ohio Dominican required to eliminate No. 2 Cedarville, 1-0, in the G-MAC Men's Soccer Semifinals.

The Yellow Jackets, 13-4-1 overall, will find out Monday if their season is good enough to warrant an at-large bid to the NCAA Division II Championship.

The Panthers tallied off of a corner kick in a contest where offensive opportunities were at a premium.

Cedarville outshot ODU 9-5 overall and 5-4 on goal.

Jared Zacharias made two saves in goal and the back line was credited with an additional save.

Stinger Notes:
  • ODU won two of the three meetings this fall.
  • The Jackets had not been blanked since a 3-0 reversal at Walsh on Sept. 30.
  • It was the tenth consecutive G-MAC semifinal appearance for Cedarville.
  • The Yellow Jackets lead the all-time series, 24-13-4.
  • The Panthers face host and No. 1 seed Lake Erie in Saturday's championship game.
  • The Storm defeated No. 4 Walsh, 5-2, in the other semifinal.
