INDIANAPOLIS - No. 8 seed Cedarville shutout No. 9 Ohio Dominican, 1-0, in the first round of NCAA Super Region 3 in what was the fourth meeting between G-MAC rivals.
The Yellow Jackets, 14-4-1, advance to play host, top seed, and No. 7 ranked Indianapolis on Saturday at noon EST.
CU made the most of a big opportunity three minutes into the second half.
Andy Volk picked off a clearance pass by the Panther goalkeeper and directed it toward
Mark Rowan, who tucked it into an open net from the top of the penalty area.
Then, the Jackets had to withstand a furious final minute from ODU during which they pressed all 11 players forward.
Goalkeeper
Jared Zacharias was credited with six saves while posting his sixth shutout.
