HONOLULU -
Emily Chapman exploded for 30 points to spark the Lady Jackets to a 72-60 victory over Embry-Riddle to begin play at the Hoops in Hawaii Holiday Classic.
Back-to-back three-pointers by
Allison Mader midway through the second quarter gave Cedarville the lead for good.
The Jackets shot 64 percent in the period and buried four triples to pull away for a 44-33 margin by halftime.
The Eagles got as close as three early in the fourth quarter, but successive treys by
Abby Freeman and
Paige Garr quickly pushed the lead back to nine.
Cedarville kept ERAU at bay by hitting 11 straight free throws in the final 4:40 of the contest.
Mader finished with 16 points while Garr totaled ten points and eight rebounds for the Lady Jackets, 6-3 overall.Â

- Chapman's 30 points was one shy of her career-high set last year at Hillsdale.
- The 16 points by Mader is a season-best.
- Lydia Sweeney was credited with two blocked shots.
- Cedarville forced ERAU into eight more turnovers (9-17).
- The Jackets converted 15-of-17 free throws.
- It was the first-ever meeting on the hardwood between the two schools.
