Branden Maughmer scored 21 points featuring a three-pointer at the buzzer to force overtime that propelled the Yellow Jackets to a 96-93 win over Saint Leo at the Florida Southern Classic.
Cedarville, 6-4 overall, trailed by four points with 12 seconds remaining before Maughmer canned a pair of key baskets.
His layup brought the Jackets within 78-76 with 5.9 seconds to go. After the Lions made one-of-two free throws, Maughmer's triple at the top of the key tied the game at 79-79 requiring OT.
The extra session was all Cedarville.
Isaiah Speelman's three-pointer fueled a 10-2 run to start the frame en route to the victory.
Maughmer, who returned to the line-up after missing two games with a hand injury, scored 17 of his points after halftime including seven in overtime. He added seven assists, six rebounds, and three steals.
Speelman buried four triples and scored 20 points.
Jayvon Maughmer racked up 15 points and a career-high nine assists.
Conner TenHove contributed 14 markers and
Grant Whisman nailed four three-pointers for 12 points.
