GLENVILLE, W.Va. - Five Lady Jacket pitchers limited Glenville State to four hits total during back-to-back non-conference shutouts over the Pioneers.
Cedarville extended its winning streak to four straight with 5-0 and 8-0 results.
Mariah Wallace hammered a two-run homer in the first game and
Faith Bergner drove in two more runs with a double.
Casey Bertke and
Emily Blake combined to allow just hits with five strikeouts.
In the second game,
Arica Flaugher went 3-for-4 with a double, home run, and three RBI to spark the offense. Wallace and
Millie German both doubled, and
Kaley Clark scored twice.
Adaline Ziehmer,
Abbey Mayes, and Blake fanned four on another combined two-hitter for the Lady Jackets, 7-3 overall.
Stinger Notes:
- The Jackets did not commit an error in either contest and the pitchers did not walk a batter.
- Carrie Jespersen stole four bases in the nightcap matching the school single-game record held by eight others.
- Jespersen had six steals in the doubleheader and has a team-leading ten for the season.
- Cedarville totaled 15 hits on the day - six for extra bases.
- The Lady Jackets hold a 2-1 lead in the all-time series.
