CEDARVILLE, Ohio - No. 5 seed Tiffin jumped on the No. 1 Lady Jackets from the get go and never let up in defeating the Cedarville, 72-56, in the G-MAC Tournament Semifinals at the Callan Athletic Center.
The G-MAC regular season champions now wait to see if they have still earned a bid to the Atlantic Regional when qualifiers are announced Sunday night.
The Dragons rushed out to a 20-13 lead after one quarter. It was a 13-point spread by halftime which inflated to as mush as 20 in the third period.
The Jackets got no closer than 13 points the rest of the way in dropping to 19-5.
Ashlyn Huffman finished with 14 points for Cedarville.
Allison Mader was the only other player to reach twin figures with 10.
Stinger Notes:
- Tiffin shot 59 percent in the first quarter and 54Â percent for the game.
- The Dragons controlled the boards, 41-28.
- The Jackets' 56 points was their lowest offensive output this season.
- TU won two-of-three meetings between the two schools this year.
- Cedarville leads the all-time series, 32-19.
- No. 2 Kentucky Wesleyan beat No. 6 Findlay in the other semifinal, 77-57.
- KWC and Tiffin meet in Saturday's championship game at 3:00 p.m. EST.
