PAINESVILLE, Ohio - A flurry of three Cedarville goals in a span of less than five minutes rallied the Yellow Jackets to a 3-1 G-MAC victory at Lake Erie.
CU ends the abbreviated spring season at 6-1-1 overall and 6-1-1 G-MAC heading into the conference tournament.
The defending regular season champion Storm got on the board first in the 55th minute.
The Jackets turned the game around in their favor with a trio of finishes.
Mauricio Ochoa Vazquez got it started by heading in
Pedro Alvares' corner kick in the 67th minute.
Alvares tucked in a pass from
Andy Volk three minutes later. Then, it took just 90 more seconds for
Gui Fernandes to score from Alvares and
Trey McBride.
Stinger Notes:
- Cedarville dominated the stat sheet outshooting LEC 22-5 overall and 9-3 on goal.
- The visitors attempted more corner kicks, 6-1.
- Goalkeeper Jared Zacharias was credited with two saves.
- The Yellow Jackets lead the all-time series, 4-1-1.
- CU will host a G-MAC Tournament quarterfinal match on Saturday.
