MASON, Ohio - A bases loaded balk in the bottom of the ninth inning gave No. 3 seed Ohio Dominican a 7-6 win over the No. 7 Yellow Jackets in an elimination game at the G-MAC Baseball Championship.
Cedarville ends the season with an overall record of 17-23.
The Panthers loaded the bases with nobody out in the ninth on two walks sandwiched around a CU error on a sacrifice bunt. The balk call came one out later.
Daniel Sewak belted a two-run homer in the eighth inning to tie the score, 6-6. ODU loaded the bases with nobody out in its half of the eighth, but reliever
Reid Hale wiggled out of the jam.
Sewak finished with two hits and three RBI.
Blais Hale tallied two hits with a double and an RBI while
Lucas Rotello added two hits and two RBI.
Stinger Notes:
- The Yellow Jackets stranded a season-high 16 batters on base while ODU left 10.
- Cedarville used seven pitchers in the contest.
- There was a combined total of 17 walks and nine batters hit-by-pitch by both sides in the four-hour affair.
- ODU won four of the five games played between the two schools this spring.
