HIGHLIGHTS
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - United Soccer Coaches Division II No. 25 Lee netted the game winner in the 86th minute for a 2-1 non-conference result at Cedarville.
The unbeaten Flames, 3-0, took the advantage early with a strike in the ninth minute.
The Lady Jackets finally leveled the match in the 66th with an own goal.
Bethany Murphy's free kick from 35 yards sailed into the box and went off a defender's head eluding the keeper.
The visitors outshot CU 13-7 overall, but the Jackets had more on goal, 7-5.
Each team earned three corner kicks and both were whistled for eight fouls apiece.
Brooke Ackley made three saves in goal for Cedarville, 0-2-1.
Stinger Notes:
- The outcome broke a 14-game home unbeaten string (12-0-2) dating back to the 2019 opener vs. Bellarmine.
- Lee's three victories have all come against G-MAC members (Ohio Dominican, Trevecca).
- CU's goal was the first allowed by the Flames this season.
- Lee has won both meetings between the two schools.
- The remainder of the 2021 schedule is all within the G-MAC.
