COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio Dominican handed United Soccer Coaches Division II No. 14 Cedarville its first loss of the campaign, 2-1, in a G-MAC battle staged at Panther Field.
It was the conference opener for both sides.
Just like the preceding women's game, the winning goal came in the 85th minute - this time by the home team.
Following a scoreless first 45 minutes, each team tallied less than two minutes apart in the early stages of the second half.
ODU got on the board in the 56th minute and then
Mauricio Ochoa Vazquez leveled the match by converting a penalty kick in the 58th.
Stinger Notes:
- The Panthers had the edge in shots - 14-11 overall and 6-5 on goal.
- Jared Zacharias was credited with four saves between the pipes.
- CU was called for 17 fouls compared to 10 for the hosts.
- The Yellow Jackets lead the all-time series, 23-12-4, which began in 1977.
- ODU visits Cedarville on Homecoming Saturday, Oct. 2.
