CEDARVILLE, Ohio -
Branden Maughmer poured in 23 points featuring multiple key baskets down the stretch to guide the Yellow Jackets to a 76-73 win over G-MAC leader Walsh at the Callan Athletic Center.
Cedarville ended the Cavaliers' four-game winning streak to improve to 9-5 overall and 5-2 G-MAC.
Conner TenHove produced a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds to go along with seven assists.
Isaiah Speelman flipped in 13 points and
Kollin Van Horn added 10.
Maughmer scored 20 points in the second half - 14 in the last seven minutes - when the Yellow Jackets rallied from a 59-52 deficit with 7:35 left.
His three-ball with 3:30 remaining broke a 67-67 deadlock to give CU the lead for good.
Stinger Notes:
- TenHove drained five-of-six shots from behind the arc.
- The Jackets made 14-of-29 from deep including 6-of-9 in the second half.
- CU has converted 14 threes in a game three times this season (Saint Leo, Florida Southern).
- Neither team had a lead larger than seven points, but there were 12 lead changes and four ties.
- Cedarville owns four straight wins against the Cavaliers.
- Walsh leads the all-time series, 49-45.
- The two sides end the regular season on February 26 in North Canton, Ohio.
