HILLSDALE, Mich. - G-MAC preseason favorite Hillsdale continued its mastery over Cedarville by cruising to a 85-71 win at Potter Arena.
The Chargers broke open the contest early with a 23-2 run and enjoyed a 43-16 lead by halftime.
The difference swelled to as much as 33 points in the first five minutes of the second half and the hosts coasted to the finish.
Branden Maughmer scored 16 points for the Yellow Jackets, 10-8 overall and 6-5 G-MAC.
Quinton Green and
Jayvon Maughmer added 13 points apiece.
Cedarville outscored Hillsdale 55-42 over the final 20 minutes.
Stinger Notes:
- The Jackets bounced back in the second half to hit 17-of-35 (.486) from the field.
- Jacob Drees hauled in a game-high ten rebounds.
- Cedarville was credited with just three turnovers compared to eight for the home team.
- Hillsdale shot 60 percent from the field including 14-of-19 (.737) in the second half.
- The Chargers are a perfect 11-0 vs. CU in the all-time series.
