TOURNAMENT INFO
HAMMOND, Ind. - GLIAC No. 1 seed Ferris State and GLVC No. 4 Rockhurst took down Cedarville on opening day at the Midwest Region Crossover.
The Lady Jackets are seeded No. 6 among G-MAC schools in the 36-team extravaganza being played at the Hammond Sportsplex.
Ferris State rolled in the first match of the day 25-17, 25-20, 25-13.
Cam Davenport had six kills,
Kaley Matney handed out 12 assists, and
Hannah Willow turned back three blocks.
Rockhurst rallied in the fourth set to complete a 25-15, 25-23, 24-26, 25-22 victory.
Davenport hammered 13 kills and
Riley Hensley added 10 for Cedarville, 10-11.
Matney had 45 assists,
Haley Koch totaled six blocks, and
Mallory Delamarter worked the back row for 22 digs.
Stinger Notes:
- Davenport and Matney registered 18 digs each in the second contest.
- Rockhurst erased a 10-3 deficit in the fourth set and the match took 2:01 to complete.
- There were 46 ties and 15 lead changes in the contest.
- Both opponents are 3-0 in their respective all-time series vs. the Jackets.
- The G-MAC had a 7-14 record for the day.
