OWENSBORO, Ky. - Kentucky Wesleyan finally solved Cedarville for an important 2-1 G-MAC decision.
It was the second time in seven days the two sides had seen one another with the Jackets winning on their home turf, 2-1, on Oct. 13.
The Panthers struck first in the 32nd minute.
Matthew Weller provided the equalizer with his first goal of the season in the 54th from
Victor Pomelli.
However, Kentucky Wesleyan needed less than five minutes to regain a lead they would hold on to drop CU to 8-7-1 overall and 6-6 G-MAC.
Stinger Notes:
- Weller's goal was the second of his career.
- Pomelli dished out his team-leading fifth assist of the year.
- Jared Zacharias made five saves in his first appearance between the pipes in three-plus games.
- The Yellow Jackets have scored 16 goals this season and allowed 16.
- It was the first victory ever for KWC over Cedarville in 20 tries.
