NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Lady Jackets posted a 2-0 victory at Trevecca to lock down the G-MAC regular season title and No. 1 seed in the upcoming conference tournament.
Cedarville won its 11th straight decision and heads to the regular season finale at Ohio Dominican with records of 14-2-1 overall and 12-1 G-MAC.
Olivia Hoffman provided all the visitors needed when she hooked in a corner kick in the 35th minute for her team-high ninth goal of the fall.
Mary Kate Wyer hammered home an all-important insurance tally in the 68th from 12 yards out on a pass by
Payton Fraley.
Brooke Ackley needed to make just one save while posting her fifth shutout.
The Lady Jackets earned an opening round bye in the six-team G-MAC Tournament which begins Oct. 29.
Cedarville will host the G-MAC Semifinals on Nov. 3 as well as the championship game on Nov. 5.
Stinger Notes:
- Hoffman's 25 career goals ties for sixth on the program's all-time list.
- Wyer's tally was the 19th of her career.
- The defense limited TNU to just one shot on goal while the offense created five.
- The visitors outshot the Trojans 12-5 overall.
