Olivia Hoffman and
Megan McClish scored goals on assists from
Addie Erslan as Cedarville dodged upset-minded Malone, 2-1, on Senior Day.
The outcome was the seventh consecutive victory for the Lady Jackets, 10-2-1 overall and 8-1 G-MAC.
Hoffman fired in her team-best sixth goal of the season in the 18th minute.
However, the Pioneers equalized just two minutes later.
Erslan set up McClish in the 29th minute with a 20-yard shot just inside the left post.
Cedarville outshot the visitors 13-3 in the second half, but was unable to net an insurance goal.
Stinger Notes:
- All nine seniors - Hoffman, Anna Burkhard, Jocelyn Gross, Jada Hensley, Jewell Hensley, Marisa Hoober, Aleah Martone, Hannah Sareyka, and Mary Kate Wyer - were in the starting lineup.
- Erslan recorded two assists in one game for the first time in her career.
- Gross made two saves in goal in the first half while Brooke Ackley had one in the second.
- The Jackets outshot Malone 21-9 overall and 10-2 on goal plus a 9-0 margin on corners.
- Cedarville leads the all-time series, 14-11-2, having won 12 of the last 13 meetings.
