CEDARVILLE, Ohio -
Jayvon Maughmer totaled game-highs of 22 points and eight rebounds to lead Cedarville to a 98-73 non-conference win over Wilberforce at the Callan Athletic Center.
The 6-foot-6 junior was one of five players in double figures for the Yellow Jackets, 4-1.
Rookie guard
Ethan Sellars came off the bench with 15 points.
Grant Whisman had 11 points while
Chris Rogers and
Kyle Thomas chipped in ten apiece.
Cedarville broke a 14-14 deadlock midway through the first half with ten unanswered points.
A 45-28 halftime lead grew to as much as 32 points with the help of 55 percent shooting in the second period.
Stinger Notes:
- Rogers doled out a game-high five assists.
- Cedarville controlled the boards, 38-31, and converted 11-of-13 free throws.
- Rogers, Sellars, and Timothy Davis each had three of the team's season-high 19 steals.
- After missing their first ten three-point shots, the Jackets went 11-for-21 the rest of the contest.
- It was the 90th meeting between the two schools whose campuses are four miles from one another.
- CU leads the all-time series, 71-19.
