CEDARVILLE, Ohio -
Grant Whisman buried nine three-pointers en route to a career-high 32 points as Cedarville outshot Central State, 107-73, at the Callan Athletic Center.
Whisman went 9-for-15 from long range, grabbed five rebounds, and blocked four shots.
Jacob Drees produced his second straight double-double and fifth overall with 20 points, ten rebounds, six assists, and three steals.
Chris Rogers and
Kyle Thomas added 14 points each for the Yellow Jackets, 9-3 overall.
Cedarville bolted to a 12-2 lead and never trailed. The hosts knocked down 11-of-20 treys in the first 20 minutes for a 60-32 advantage at the break.
The Jackets rained in three more triples in the opening two minutes of the second half and increased the bulge to as much as 43 with 7:50 remaining.
Stinger Notes:
- The team's 17 three-pointers was one shy of the season high (18) at Lake Erie.
- Rogers (4) and Thomas (3) were a combined 7-for-11 outside the arc.
- Jayvon Maughmer had seven rebounds and three blocks.
- Rogers' 14 points are his most as a Yellow Jacket plus he handed out five assists for the fourth time.
- Cedarville is averaging 14 treys and 102.3 points in the last three outings.
- Robb Burt holds the school record for most threes (11) in one game set at Walsh on Dec. 14, 1999.
- The Greene County series began in the 1960-61 season with Central State leading, 30-19.
