COLUMBUS, Ohio -
Paige Garr scored 19 points including eight in overtime as the Lady Jackets held off Ohio Dominican, 77-74, in a G-MAC game staged at Alumni Hall.
Cedarville has won three straight and four of its last five outings to improve to 16-9 overall and 11-8 G-MAC.
Garr hit two free throws with 14 seconds remaining in OT to account for the final. The Panthers got off a three-pointer just before the buzzer that would have tied the contest again.
Allison Mader tallied 15 points to lead a group of four additional players in twin figures which featured
Lydia Sweeney (13),
Emily Chapman (12), and
Lexi Moore (11).
ODU rallied from 13 points down late in the third quarter to make a game of it.
The hosts then scored the first five points of the extra session before Garr took over.
Stinger Notes:
- Garr and Moore each hauled in a team-high eight rebounds.
- The Jackets made 4-of-5 field goals in overtime and shot 51 percent for the game.
- CU outscored the home team 50-30 in the paint.
- The lead changed hands eight times with four tie scores.
- ODU, who leads the nation in free throw accuracy at 84.3 percent, converted all 11 of its attempts.
- Cedarville holds a 38-29 margin in the all-time series.
- The two sides play again Saturday at the Callan Athletic Center on Senior Day.
